In 2006 MRBI announced the acquisitions of a total of six television stations. These six television stations include KHIZ from Sunbelt Television Inc. and WSAH, KCNS, WMFP, WRAY, WOAC from E.W. Scripps. After the completion of the acquisition, MRBI will be the largest Asian owned television group in the U.S.
WSAH-TV is licensed to Bridgeport, CT and operating on channel 43 will allow broadcasting signal into the number one market in the U.S. The New York NY DMA is ranked as the second largest number of Asian household in the U.S.
KCNS-TV is licensed to San Francisco, CA and operating on channel 38 allows full market coverage. San Francisco is the sixth largest market in the U.S. In San Francisco the Asian community is the largest ethic group in the market with 33 percent of San Francisco city residents that are Asians.
WMFP-TV is licensed to Lawrence, MA and operating on channel 62 serves the Boston market, the fifth largest DMA in the U.S.
WRAY-TV is licensed to Wilson, NC and operating on channel 30, covering the state capital of North Carolina. This market also has higher than average number of college graduates due in part of University of North Carolina (UNC) and Duke University and the number of employees at each of the two major universities.
WOAC-TV is licensed to Canton, OH and operating on channel 67, serving the sixteenth largest DMA in the U.S.
KHIZ-TV is licensed to Barstow, CA and operating on channel 64 and has been allotted for digital channel 44, serving the Los Angeles DMA.
